Will Microsoft sue Google? (Danger vs. android)
Since the announcement of Android by Google, I have been wondering if Danger will sue Google. Android is an invention of Andy Rubin (Director of Mobile Platform at Google), who is a co-founder of Danger. As far as I can tell, there is a significant similarities between Danger OS and android, and it is quite possible that there are some IP-polutions between.
When I saw the annoucement of acquisition (of Danger Inc. by Microsoft, see the releated article ), the very first thing came to my mind was "is Microsoft trying to sue Google?"
Danger is not winning in the market place, and its business has virtually no value. The only value they have is probably a set of IPs related to Danger's own VM, which is created by also Andrew Rubin.
Imagine what Microsoft would do, if Danger has approached to Microsoft saying that "I think Google is violating our IPs, and we need your help". If I were Microsoft, I would buy Danger immediately and use it as a leverage against Google's android. Just a possibility of lawsuit from Microsoft will scare a lot of people away from android.
Oh brother...

Yes this makes sense. MS would not buy of for the techno, they would not buy it for the market share (there is non) and thy would not buy if for the team, so what else for? Andy Rubin of course. I was happy to read the first comment that looks at the strategic reason.
